Tek 2712 service manual

You know how to ask for help. But you wouldn't response to others seeking from you. So your spectrum analyser should stay rot. Why do you say so? Enviado do meu iPhone usando Tapatalk.

If I did that it was an accident and I apologize for that. Hi; thanks for reply; I think it's accidental. Do check your previous posting if you have missed anything. I have no idea with this analyser, otherwise I would have chipped in. But there are many experts in this repair forum.

So, no worries. Regards; Armadillo;. Hi all My parser is finally fixed , I did more than to the recalibrated. The failure was at the level of a 8-bit converter, the circuit is oxidized because of an aluminum capacitor leaking.

DrJay73 Newbie Posts: 2 Country:. I had the same problem and while looking for snswers, encountered this forum.

My problem started when my began having some level problems. I looked in utilities and then the diagnostics section. Show logs seemed a reasonable choice. I selected show all. I believe the analyzer froze at that point. I toggled the machine off then on and that horrible screen appeared. Log errors flash by and then the screen flashes about 10 times right before a log line disappears. Then it freezes. Hit W to continue Z to exit. Totally froze up. I had hoped to find a reset code that would bring the boot sequence back to normal.

Was not successful in my quest. In a Hail Mary, last ditch attempt, I held the util button down while I turned the unit on. Well, Hail Mary! It worked!!

I joined the forum to share my experience. I thought I was staring at corrupted nvram. Give it a shot. It worked for me. I suspect it is a closely guarded secret. I would be very interested to know if it works for others. I suspect it will!! Good luck!

This warranty shall not apply to any defect, failure or damage caused by improper use or improper or inadequate maintenance and care. Tektronix shall not be obligated to furnish service under this warranty a to repair damage resulting from attempts by personnel other than Tektronix representatives to install, repair or service the product; b to repair damage resulting from improper use or connection to incompatible equipment; or c to service a product that has been modified or integrated with other products when the effect of such modification or integration increases the time or difficulty of servicing the product.

Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use. Terminals on this product may have different installation category designations. Distribution-level mains usually permanently connected. Equipment at this level is typically in a fixed industrial location. Local-level mains wall sockets. Equipment at this level includes appliances, portable tools, and similar products.

Equipment is usually cord-connected. For instrument with serial number B and later the procedure starts on page A. Instrument with serial number B and later. Use an isolation transformer when working on the Power Supply. The transformer must have a three wire input and output connector with ground through the input and output. Stancor GIS is an example of a suitable transformer. Hazardous line potential exists on the Power Supply board at all times the instrument power cord is connected.

If it becomes necessary to remove the shield on the bottom of the Power Supply board, use extreme caution when handling the instrument. Refer to Figure 41 for the location of most adjustments and test points. Place the Channel 2 probe near R on the Power Supply board. The test oscilloscope should display approximately four periods of the waveform at TP An unlocked waveform exhibits a noticeable amount of jitter.

When the waveform locks, a sudden shift of the waveform occurs and the jitter goes away. Continue adjusting R counterclockwise until lock is lost or the potentiometer is fully counterclockwise.

Make a note of the range through which the signal stays locked. Center R in the noted range. The waveform at TP has phase jitter due to pulse width modulation. Readjust R if lock is lost. Reset the line voltage to nominal. Check the power supplies as per Table Turn off the graticule lights DSPL 6. Monitor TP with the Multimeter and the 2.

Press UTIL five times to return the display to the spectral display mode. Readjust R on the Power Supply board for the sharpest overall display. Adjust R on the Power Supply board for the sharpest display. Press any menu button to exit the menu.

A dead time control DTC R has been added which will be used to set the maximum high voltage measured at the 2. New values for C and R have been chosen to lower the effect of the leakage current from pin 4 of U Any pin 4 leakage current through R will reduce Power Supply performance. Supply regulation for U has been improved by lowering the resistance of R Instrument with serial number B or above. The Power Supply circuit board component location illustrations are expanded and divided into several parts to make it easier for you to locate small components.

To determine which part of the whole locator diagram you are looking at, refer to the small locator key shown below. The gray block, within the larger circuit board outline, shows where that part fits in the whole locator diagram. Each part in the key is labeled with an identifying letter that appears in the figure titles under component locator diagrams. Please enter the link of the website. Please enter the email address.
